KO in Veterans Competition at the 2006 AMCA National and Regional Specialties
Multi-BIS BISS Ch. Barrenfield Major Knockout came to us from Jerry & Sandy Musjy in Canada. When we got him, and for about the first two years I showed him, I was so novice that I did not realize how lucky I was to receive such an outstanding show dog my second time around.

Best in Show, Mt. Ogden Kennel Club, May 2003
At K.O.’s first show (as well as my very first time in the ring), we won a specialty Grand Sweepstakes under RoseAnn Deutsch, as well as a 5-point major! I had no idea what he had just done. It was quite a sight I am sure, I was running around in shoes that weighed about 5 lbs, K.O. was out of control, and I had no idea what was going on! I will be forever in debt to RoseAnn.

Best in Show, Plum Creek Kennel Club, February 2004
The day after she judged sweepstakes, RoseAnn took K.O. and I aside and gave us some hard handling lessons. If she hadn’t, I’m afraid K.O. would never have achieved what he has -- I would have given up! Since that day, he finished as AMCA’s top class dog for 1999, was ranked in the Top 20 for 4 years, had multiple specialty wins, group placements and two Bests In Show under his belt. K.O.’s first litter produced multiple champions in three different countries.

Most importantly, K.O. was my lifeline and inspiration. He woke me up with his kisses in the morning, and I was greeted by his bear hugs when I got home. When we entered a ring, he showed himself with everything he had. He never held back, and when he walked away with out a ribbon, he was just as happy as when he left with a blue one...He was doing something he loved to do. His attitude taught me to stay grounded and at the end of the day, it’s just a dog show and we spent the day doing something we love, surrounded by our wonderful friends that we have made over the years.
